Gaines Chapel Ministries

A.N.C.H.O.R.E.D. to Men

A.N.C.H.O.R.E.D. (Anointed and Committed to Honoring Our Redeemer Daily) to Men is the support ministry for men and boys of all ages. It uses biblical teaching to enlighten and create fellowship and open dialogue between the various ages. This ensures that wisdom, knowledge, strength and confidence is being passed down from generation to generation. They usually meet monthly. Check calendar.

A.N.C.H.O.R.E.D. to Women

A.N.C.H.O.R.E.D. (Anointed and Committed to Honoring Our Redeemer Daily) to Women is the women's focused bible study and support ministry that usually meets monthly. Check calendar.

Christian Education

Led by Rev. Aaron Myers, Director, the Christian Education Department provides oversight and directs the bible-based education and spiritual development and enrichment within the church. In addition to overseeing Bible Study, Church School, Vacation Bible School, New Members' Classes, Discipleship, as well as focused group ministries such as Men's, Women's and Youth and Young Adults (YES), they partner with each organization to promote biblical principles and Christian values.

Church School

Led by Sis. Dorothy Perry, Church School Superintendent, Sunday School is held every Sunday from 10 am - 10:45 via Zoom.

Class Leaders

Led by Rev. Aaron Myers, the Class Leaders are appointed by the Pastor to help oversee the flock. As spiritual leaders, they assist the pastor in the care of a small group of members by establishing a rapport, maintain a relationship, and encouraging spiritual growth and commitment among the members thereby strengthening the members and helping to mature the church, spiritually.

Discipleship Classes

Led by Rev. Aaron Myers, Director of Christian Education, discipleship classes are generally every Thursday at 6pm - 7:30 pm when in session. Check calendar.

Health

Led by Rev. Aaron Myers, the Health Ministry informs and provides resources that educate, or bring awareness of various health topics or concerns throughout the year.

Helping Hands Ministry

The mission of the Helping Hands Ministry is to make available to the congregation and community durable medical equipment (DME) to those for whom it is either not covered by their insurance or for those who have no insurance.

Intercessory Prayer

Led by Rev. Verna Queen, Ministry Leader, the Intercessory Prayer ministry, a cornerstone within our church, by the power of the Holy Spirit, earnestly prays for the needs, health, leadership and the advancement of our church, community, and country. All are welcome to forward their petitions for prayer and to join in this ministry.

Lay

Led by Sis. Deborah Thomas, President, the Lay Organization organize and train the laity of the African Methodist Episcopal Church so that lay persons may maximize their God-given abilities and skills to improve and extend the kingdom to create happiness, peace, and harmony among its members. The Lay Organization is open to all members of the church who are not ordained clergy.

Missionary

The Missionary Society ministers to the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and environmental needs of all people by spreading Christ's liberating gospel through word and deed. All are welcome to join the Missionary Society or to support their efforts to demonstrate the love of Christ.

Pastor's Aide

Led by Sis Valerie Lewis and Bro. Ivan Bond, the Pastor's Aid ministry provides support to the pastor, and first family by providing support and encouragement. They tend to the pastor's needs and serves as armour bearer.

Pastor's Bible Study

Pastor Bible Study is generally every Wednesday at 7pm - 8:15 pm. Check calendar.

Prayer and Visitation

Led by Rev. Jaimie Harvey, personal prayer, visitation to home, hospital, nursing home or hospice, etc. is available by request 24/7, 365.

S.A.L.T.

Seniors Active & Living Triumphantly

Led by Rev. Jaimie Harvey and Sis. Linda Harvey, seniors Active and Living Triumphantly is a compassionate care senior ministry providing resources that aim to encourage, inform, and uplift seniors.

Stewards

Led by Sis. Linda Harvey, Pro Temp, the Steward Board is the Pastor's cabinet. As spiritual leaders, they oversee the spiritual, fiscal, and administrative efforts of the church and provide support to the pastor and the pastor's vision. They are appointed by the pastor annually.

Trustees

Led by Bro. Aaron Pulley, Pro Temp, the Trustee Board, as spiritual leaders, assist the pastor in maintaining the church's property, which includes management, maintenance, development, and security. They are caretakers of the property that has been entrusted to their care for the well-being of all church programs and are elected annually by the church.

Youth & Young Adults Empowered to Serve

Led by Rev. Tonya A. McCleary, Youth & Young Adults Empowered to Serve ties our youth and young adult to every arm of the church. YES partners with parents to assist in spiritual enrichment, as well as academic support and encouragement and fellowship activities. The ministry promotes a balanced application of biblical study, life application skills & training in the knowledge and doctrine of the church.
